FASHION DESIGNER, TEXTILE ARTIST & CRAFTSPERSON B. 1981, GOTLAND /SWEDEN

With a robust foundation in fashion design since 2009, I expanded my expertise by incorporating textile craftsmanship into my practice, pursuing studies at Handarbetets Vänner and working as an employee in their atelier. I am currently based in my own studio in Västergarn, Gotland, where I offer both consultancy in fashion design and textile craftsmanship—two complementary fields that inform and enhance one another.

As a textile artist and craftsperson with a design background, I navigate between these two spheres. My approach to textile materials and techniques is characterized by a degree of freedom, though I am particularly captivated by traditional methods. These methods inspire me to explore their potential further, seeking new forms of expression and functionality. Among the techniques that have had a significant impact on my work, Punto in aria (needle lace) stands out as especially meaningful.

I have a strong preference for working with natural materials, and I frequently repurpose textile waste, giving it new life and purpose. I believe that surrounding oneself with textiles and soft materials promotes well-being, as they offer more than just visual and tactile appeal—they possess inherent calming and sound-dampening properties. In my textile works, I seek to highlight the interplay between the hand, the thread, and the inherent possibilities of the material itself. My textiles are intended for the soul, providing a space where color and form can flourish and radiate freely.
